Erykah Badu is ready to take on the music world once again with part 2 of her New Amerykah album series, Return of the Ankh. The new album–set to be released on March 30–features a slew of new songs from Badu which focus on the theme of romance.  The album serves as a counterpart to Badu’s previously released album, “New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War,” which focused more on Badu’s political thoughts.

The White Stripes front-man Jack White recently announced that he put together a song with Jay-Z for the rappers next album.

“I just did a record with Jay-Z,” White said. “We did a song together a few weeks ago. It was incredible. I played him something that I’ve been kicking around for a while and he immediately came out with words for it. It’s unbelievable-sounding.” (Contact Music)

White said he was impressed by Jay’s way with words, and he wanted to challenge himself by doing a record with Jay regardless of whether it would be a good business venture or not.

“I’m told it’s not good business, but I just don’t care. It’s more important to challenge yourself and see what works and try new paths. A lot of them are going to be dead ends, but that doesn’t matter to me – at least I tried. I could sit home and just do nothing.” (Contact Music)

Just last year, Jay-Z was quoted in Clash Magazine saying that he considered White a “renaissance man.”

Lil Wayne has been incarcerated for over a week  in New York, but he is now a wanted man in Arizona.

According to TMZ, apparently, Wayne had a court date earlier today in Arizona, but wasn’t able to attend due to the fact that he is already serving time behind bars  for charges related to a 2007 incident in New York. Well, that didn’t stop Yuma County from issuing a warrant for Wayne’s arrest.

The self-proclaimed “Best Rapper Alive” may be out of jail in less than a year, but he could be heading right back if he’s found guilty of charges stemming from a 2008 Arizona arrest after cops pulled over Wayne’s tour bus, and found a 40 caliber pistol, 41 grams of ecstasy, 105 grams of marijuana, and 29 grams of cocaine.

Nicki Minaj recently hosted BET’s Rip the Runway and gave an exclusive interview where she expressed aspiration to write for Beyonce.

Minaj told BET, “I think I can come up with some crazy, crazy stuff for Beyonce. I have things that I write for girls, like R&B singers and you know, Beyonce, she’s fearless. I think she can embody my crazy swag in a female R&B world.” (BET)

Freeway will be the musical guest on Monday’s episode of NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. The rapper will be stopping by the show to perform a song off of his latest album, The Stimulus Package, alongside Jimmy Fallon’s house band, The Roots.

R&B singer Lloyd officially signed with Interscope after his first choice, Young Money/Cash Money Records, deal fell through.

The crooner said he originally felt that the Young Money/Cash Money label would be the right place for him, but he didn’t want to be signed to Universal/Motown once again, which is where he released his to previous albums. In the end, Lloyd was unable to comprise a deal with another distributor, and decided to sign with Interscope instead.

“Signing with Interscope was just a small step” according to Lloyd, and he promises more features as well as a new album before the year is up.

“I don’t feel the need to rush to release an album. It’ll be out later this year. I got a couple of title options, but I’m not 100 percent sure yet,” he explained. “I love the way Interscope gets down. I love the way Jimmy [Iovine, label head] gets down. I’ve always had a good working relationship with Polow [da Don, producer]. Having that creative partner is something I wanted to have, since the very beginning, to have that one creative partner. Mike [Jackson] had it with Quincy [Jones], Janet [Jackson] had it with Jimmy [Jam] and Terry [Lewis]. Justin has it with Timbaland. I feel that me and Polow have something special. I’m really looking forward to that. I also admire Jimmy [Iovine] as a producer. He loves producers. He’s got Will.I.Am, Dr. Dre, Polow, the Neptunes, Timbaland. That’s what he does. I’m looking forward to it.” (MTV)

Lloyd was previously signed to The Inc. Records for five years before parting ways in June 2009.

Rhymefest has released the album artwork and tracklisting for his sophomore album, El Che, which hits stores on May 18.

T-Pain recently spoke to MTV about his highly anticipated duet album with Lil Wayne, which he claims is still very much in the works.

“The T-Wayne album, we’re actually gonna wait until he gets out,” Pain said. “He has so much going on. He has Rebirth out right now. I don’t wanna interrupt that. We just gonna wait until he gets out to really get in on that. We recorded a bunch of songs. But, right now, it’s time for him and his personal sh–.” (MTV)

Pain says that they already have an albums worth of material, but not enough to make it a great project.

“…We can put out whatever we feel like and say, ‘Hey, this is T-Wayne’s album,’ or we can actually try to make it good. Like we’re actually trying to make an album and say, ‘This is the good T-Wayne album.’ Rather than just record 12 songs and say, ‘Here you go, mutha—-as! I know you want it. You gonna buy it anyway, just ’cause you think it’s good.’ ” (MTV)

In the meantime, T-Pain is busy working on his fourth studio album, RevolveR, which is rumored to be released in April.
