Rapper Canibus has just released to artwork for his upcoming tenth studio album, C of Tranquility. The new LP is scheduled to hit stores on October 5th, and though little information is known about the album, reports are circulating that it features production by Scram Jones, Jake One, Tha Bizness, and DJ Premier. Just a year after making headlines for interrupting Taylor Swift during her Best Female Video Award speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West is back and ready to redeem himself by performing at next month’s 25th annual show.
According to UsMagazine.com, The 33-year-old rapper is set to take the stage at the Sept. 12 event. Reps for West and MTV have yet to comment on the matter, but sources have confirmed the line-up.
Other confirmed performers of the night include Pink, 30 Seconds to Mars, Usher, Jay Z, Katy Perry, and Alicia Keys.
Kanye recently released the first single, “Power,” from his upcoming fifth studio album.
Ice Cube took to his official blog this past Saturday to discuss his new album, I Am The West, and why Ice Cube will not be making an appearance on it.
The former N.W.A. rapper wrote that he was in the process of mixing the last four songs for the LP, and how most likely “15 songs when it’s all said and done.”
Cube then went on to answer the most sought after question regarding the LP, will Dr. Dre be contributing?
“Many asked about Dr. Dre working on my album. Negative, Dre has been M.I.A. for a few months now. I asked Snoop has he heard from him and he said, no. I can’t wait. I gotta turn my shit in by Aug. 20th to make street date…Sept 28th. I’ll keep you posted if anythang new develops.”
Although Dr. Dre may not be lending his talents to I Am The West, Cube has recorded a song with the super-producer for his upcoming album, Detox.
Hellz Bellz is getting ready to release their own special edition Baby-G watches along with their fall 2010 line. The new watches pay homage to the 80’s, with one featuring a polka dot black and white design while the other, inspired my New York City, captures the essence of a yellow and black taxi cab. The watches will retail fro $89 and will be available at Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, and Nordstrom in September.
Taio Cruz will be Friday night’s musical guest of NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The British singer is scheduled to perform a song from his recent U.S. album release, Rokstarr. Cruz has become an overnight sensation in the states since teaming up with Ludacris for his breakthrough single “Break Your Heart.” His second U.S. single “Dynamite” has also been blowing up the airwaves across the country, and is currently sitting comfortably at #3 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

It looks like this year’s MTV Video Music Awards may be a good one for Eminem, who has just received eight nominations.
The rapper leads the pack this year for male artist’s, nabbing all eight nominations for his hit single “Not Afraid” in categories ranging from Best Male Video to Best Cinematography. The lead single off of his 2010 album, Recovery, is also up for Video of the Year alongside Lady Gaga, who broke a record this year with 13 nominations.
The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards takes place live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles September 12 at 9 PM.
Rapper Young Buck’s Nashville, Tennessee home was raided by the IRS today due to $300,000 in unpaid taxes.
According to TMZ, As apart of the invasion, IRS agents repossessed several items including platinum wall plaques, jewelry, furniture, gaming consoles, and recording equipment.
The Southern MC was at home during the raid, and blamed accountants and lawyers for the situation.
“I have a new team in place, but I am also paying full attention now,” the statement continued. “Nothing like this will ever happen again. This is a huge wake-up call for all entertainers to stay on top of your own trusted employees and team members, and replace anyone that was put in place by your record label if the situation you have goes sour. This IRS situation came about because I trusted accountants, lawyers and managers to handle my business for me while I focused on making music. From now on, I am going to stay on top of my own business.” (MTV)

Singer Alicia Keys and music producer Swizz Beatz married this past Saturday on island in the Mediterranean Sea.
The couple, who are expecting their first child together, were married in a small ceremony surrounded by a small amount of family and friends including celebrities Queen Latifah and U2’s Bono.
Last May, a rep for Key’s, 29, and Swizz Beats, 31, announced their engagement and that they were also expecting a child.
T.I. married his longtime girlfriend, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, in a secret ceremony at a Miami Beach courthouse today. The couple had been dating since 2001 and have two sons together: Clifford ‘King’ Joseph III and Major Philant.
In an interview with VIBE earlier this year, Tiny told the magazine that she planned to wed the father of five this year, and said the ceremony would be “as private as possible.”
Within the last few months, the Atlanta rapper has been busy working to make a comeback into the music industry with his upcoming album, King Uncaged, after serving one-year in prison for federal weapons charges.
